Fast/Pray One Day Per Week: You
agree to pray for the needs of the church and/or personal needs by
fasting/praying one day per week.
Gap Ministry: You agree to pray in
the Prayer Room on Sunday mornings for the Worship Service and Pastor
Jody during the worship hour. We will pray during the 8:30/8:37 worship
service, the 9:47 worship service and the 11:00 worship service. All
parts of the worship service will be covered in prayer and will be
prayed for simultaneously as they are happening in the sanctuary.
Training will be given as needed.
Prayer Quilt Ministry: “Prayers and
Squares” is an outreach ministry that combines the gift of prayer with
the gift of a hand-tied quilt. The purpose of “Prayers and Squares” is
not to make and distribute quilts, but to promote prayer through the use
of quilts. Our motto is: “It’s not about the quilts; it’s all about
the prayers.” The idea behind these quilts is simple. A heavy thread
is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left
free to be tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent
prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the
finished quilt. Bi-monthly meetings are held for this group for prayer,
working with quilts, fellowship and fun.
For more information or to
get involved in our Prayer Ministries, please contact Shirley Maybin at
the church office. |

Prayer Room: Located in Room 217.
This is an opportunity for you to pray in guided prayer stations or come
to pray and meditate in a quiet place within the church. There are
prayer stations that are child friendly and marked with icons. A
special place is provided for prayer for the military and also a
memorial shelf to place candles in memory of a loved one. Prayer Room
training is conducted as needed.
Prayer Partners: You may sign up to
be a Prayer Partner. You will be given prayer requests via e-mail.
Confidentiality is stressed and is of the utmost importance. You are
expected to pray for all of the requests that you receive for a minimum
of thirty days.
Pre-Worship Prayer: A group of
Prayer Warriors meet each Sunday morning at 7:55 a.m. in the Narthex of
the Sanctuary. We pray over all segments of the worship service by
laying hands on pews, altar, pulpit, music area, etc., winding up our
prayer time in the Prayer Room to pray for our Pastor. We also pray for
our Sunday School teachers, second adults, our children, youth and other
servant ministers. We finish our prayer time by 8:15 so that one may
participate in all other worship opportunities.
Prayer Groups: Small group with a
focus on prayer needs will meet at least once a month for an hour at a
time convenient for the group or more often if the group deems it
appropriate. We are in the process now of forming a prayer/support
group for those with loved ones in the military. Other prayer groups
will be formed as needed.
Praying for the Military: A tree
with yellow ribbons on it is in the Prayer Room. Each ribbon has the
name of one of our military folks on it. We also have a printed list of
those serving in the military in the Prayer Room. We pray for those in
the military, their families, their safety and protection. We also
support them with cards and care packages when we are given addresses
and information for doing this. Time for this ministry will vary
depending on how often you come to the Prayer Room to pray and how often
you mail cards and packages. |
